The National Institute of Chemistry (Kemijski inštitut) is one of the leading public research institutions in Slovenia active in all areas of chemistry and focusing on the most pressing challenges of today, including sustainable energy, climate change, and circular economy. One of the main pillars of the Department of Catalysis and Chemical Reaction Engineering is the synthesis of biochemicals from biomass feedstock, which is also our main goal in this project. We will provide bio-based building blocks for UV-curable inks and explore the world of wood-derived covalent adaptable networks (CAN) for wood coating applications. In a demonstrator, we will assess the feasibility of integrated recycling concepts in the developed 3D-printed electronics.
