The first-generation plywood PCB has been designed as a multilayer (back and front) device that utilizes screen printing technology to deposit conductive silver tracks and laser engraving vias before filling with conductive silver to connect each side. The design includes a printed NFC antenna and through pick and place technology, components are added to allow temperature and sensing functionality.

2nd Generation – Boris to Add
3rd Generation – 4-Layer Plywood PCB

The 4-Layer Plywood PCB involves several more challenges than the 2-layer Plywood PCB as it includes 3 separate pieces of plywood to be laminated together and then connection through the drilled and filled vias.
Similar to the 2-Layer Plywood PCB, the 4-Layer Plywood PCB is built using screen printing, laser engraving and pick and place technology.
The difference is that the 4-Layer Plywood PCB is designed to use Bluetooth communication and it has the capacity to include 4 sensor nodes.
